ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello, I'm Hillary Norman. I hail from Hinsdale, IL, where early exposure to the arts at the Art Institute of Chicago left an impression.

My academic pursuits led me to Duke University and the Savannah College of Art & Design. Ironically I never actually studied painting, though what I learned through Art History classes and Furniture Design have helped me to see the world in context and envision it spatially.
While selling my first painting in 2nd grade and undertaking commissioned portraits in High School, art wasn't a primary focus until last year.

My journey involves various artistic endeavors, from interior murals to exploring commercial avenues for my work. I have also pursued jewelry design, photography, and furniture design just to name a few creative outlets.
I like to think creativity is a way of life that colors all that we do. I am in constant wonder at the world and how beautiful it is in ways that are always surprising me.
This recent shift towards a more serious engagement with art reflects a longstanding passion that has always shaped my identity.

I am delighted you are joining me as I navigate the complexities of creativity and settling in to my artistic identity.
