As an artist, I see myself as somewhat of a creative midwife, assisting individuals in giving birth to their artistic visions. My role extends beyond a mere collaborator; I immerse myself in the essence of their ideas, helping to refine and develop them into enduring works of art. Guiding the process like a midwife, I navigate through the gestation period of their creativity, nurturing each concept until it reaches its full potential. The joy lies not only in witnessing the birth of a new creation but in fostering a collaborative journey where inspiration and imagination intertwine to bring forth something truly remarkable.
IDEATION & DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
This is our blue sky time. We will discuss your idea in detail. You can give me full creative license, or give me parameters to work within. I am able to execute a number of styles, although I prefer working in water-soluble oils. I enjoy thinking expansively, turning kernels of ideas into concepts. I'll present them to you along the way and get your take on the artistic direction, make adjustments, and keep refining until the idea is right.
I am comfortable with classic pencil and paper sketches or with exploring ideas through generative AI platforms. Or both. I don't exclude any avenue for creative exploration.
DOWN TO PAINTING
Time to roll up my sleeves and get creative. I will give you a flexible timeline for completion once the project gets underway. As with the sketching and ideation phase, I will provide progress photos for your review and approval along the way if you choose. (Or it can be a surprise reveal when the work is done.)
PRICING
INITIAL CONSULT
We'll discuss the meaning behind your desired painting, exploring the story and emotions you want to convey. This can be done remotely or in person, whichever suits you best. There is no cost for the initial consult.
DESIGN COLLABORATION
Based on our discussions, I'll create initial sketches for your feedback. We'll refine the concept together to ensure it aligns perfectly with your vision. I will also provide an initial quote at this phase (see "PRICING" below for details) During this phase we will also establish a rough timeline for the completion of the painting. If there is a specific date at which you want to receive the painting, I will do my best to accommodate.
UPDATES
Throughout the painting process, you'll receive progress images. This allows you to track the development of your piece and provide input along the way.
PRICING
The painting's cost is determined by factors such as complexity and size, with an approximate rate of $75 per hour. The initial estimate given is the price to which I will adhere unless there are many subsequent revisions or edits requested by you the client. This ensures transparency in pricing and reflects the unique nature of each commission.
DELIVERY
TIMELINE
I will do my best to adhere to the established timeline discussed in the "DESIGN COLLABORATION" phase, but I do prioritize the quality of the finished work over punctuality unless a specific deadline is required by the client
RESPONSIBILITY
I assume no responsibility for the delivery of paintings or any liability during transit.
CUSTOM ARRANGEMENTS
Delivery logistics and insurance will be tailored for each arrangement, ensuring the safe arrival of your custom artwork.
I am North Carolina based, and I am happy to arrange deliveries within a 100 mile radius of my location. Beyond that radius will require special accommodations as mentioned above.
